The Prevention Education Department has been a part of CASA since 1990. The major goals of Prevention Education include:
- Preventing any alcohol, tobacco and/or drug use by youth under 21 years of age
- Preventing the use of any illegal drug by all individuals
- Delaying the age of first use as long as possible, with particular emphasis on preventing use of the gateway drugs
Some of the programs that CASA offers to the community include: Project Alert, Teen Intervene, Parenting Wisely, and Life Skills Training. We also hold a Red Ribbon Contest and Dime Carnival every year.
